Yauatcha is a very well known place among the foodies of London. On the ground floor you can find its tea house & lower ground is dedicated to dim sum experience. Be sure that Yauatcha has one of the best dim sum to offer, and surprising enough for glamorous Soho area - at reasonable prices.  Be sure to book in advance and be aware that your reservation would be for 2 hour slot only – such is a practice of a few places in London. Lower ground is always full of buzz & fashionable Soho folks. We usually prefer this floor for dinner & if we have lunch, we stay on the ground floor. Quality of the food has been consistent throughout the years, not to mention its impeccable presentation: scallop shu mai, shrimps cheung fun, juicy & sweet venision puffs are not to be missed. Place has a variety of noodles to offer with amazing hand pulled noodles dish (with enoki mushrooms). There is also an impressive selection of rare things such as Wagyu beef cheung fun, blue crab soup and XO lobster. As for drinks menu, we certainly recommend to try one of the Yauatcha most impressive cocktails or if you prefer more of a traditional twist, then a good wine list is awaiting you. Place is also famous for amazing tea selection, probably one of the best I have ever seen in London. We would recommend to try one of the blue teas! However, there are a few “buts”. Service at times is poor: you may need to wait a bit before you are noticed by the waiters crew and if you come during busy dinner hours, be sure that you would wait to be seated and still be asked to leave on time (within your allocated 2 hour slot). Recently the place stopped producing its breathtaking deserts that it was so famous for. Apparently the pastry chef left the place at the very end of 2009 & a new replacement is awaited before summer 2010. This is a big loss – and I am sure many loyal customers of this place would agree with me. Let’s see what would await us in the future...
