The Grove is at its best when the weather is warm, and you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes surrounding the hotel and pick among multitudes of activities. Those of us, who are interested more in the gourmet side of things, would be pleased to discover 3 different restaurants and numerous bars and lounges scattered throughout the whole territory of the Hotel.

The Grove is a 5 star resort in Hertfordshire, in the close neighbourhood of London, boasting impressive golf grounds as well as a beautiful Sequoia Spa. Those of us, who are interested more in the gourmet side of things, would be pleased to discover 3 different restaurants and numerous bars and lounges scattered throughout the whole territory of the Hotel. The Grove is at its best when the weather is warm, and you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes surrounding the hotel and pick among multitudes of activities. Not only you can enjoy a game of golf, you can as well play tennis, croquet, table tennis, pool tennis or go for a nice swim in the outdoor pool. It is one of the places that created a special atmosphere & comfort for families with kids as well. There is even a special sandy beach which is usually a hit among the youngsters and lovers of beach volleyball. The Grove also has special walled garden where it grows all of its vegetables & herbs used in the restaurant. There are also more decorative gardens or nice wood passages. If you come over in spring, take one of these forest routes as the whole ground is covered with beautiful bluebells; a scene not to be missed!

If you prefer the tranquillity of the indoors, then we suggest to explore the Sequoia Spa. It offers a wide range of facilities including a beautiful big swimming pool; hamam as well as a special room with swirling sea water. You can also indulge yourself in one of the spa treatments:  be it a certain massage, or special body wrap, an exfoliation, or almost any kind of a beauty treatment including ayurvedic practices. There is also a gym for workout & free classes focused on various disciplines such as yoga, spinning, latin jive, pilates and many more! In between the treatments you may enjoy having a glass of a very exotic & healthy cocktail in the Juice Bar of the spa... It is a nice treat and a good refuelling during the day.

Once the dusk is starting to settle in; it is time for a nice evening outing. It is always good to start with an aperitif to put you in the right relaxing mood before the gourmet odyssey. The Grove has 3 very different restaurants; so you can be sure to find one that suits your likes the most. We shall start with Colette’s. It is a fine-dine experience; the restaurant was recently awarded 3 AA Rosettes. Colette’s has a beautiful and very elegant interior; most of the interior pieces were hand-picked to create this atmosphere of utter relaxation & style. The food plays a key ingredient of such ambience. It is a modern cosmopolitan cuisine done with a lot of imagination & flair. To tease your taste buds, how about a Duck “tea” with Madeira, honey & turnips; followed by Hazelnut and truffle crusted sea bass, Jerusalem artichokes, shallots, palourde clams with matelote sauce? And a glorious ending note of Organic lemon and white chocolate delice, saffron and sweet corn ice cream? Save this place for a special occasion and be sure that it will become a special memory...

If you are searching for a lot more informal and relaxed atmosphere, then we suggest to try The Stables. The restaurant is built in Estate’s original stable block. Steaks are succulent and if you travel with the little companions, they would love the variety of wood-fried pizzas and other home cooking. The views are also spectacular as the terrace is overlooking the golf course. To add to the relaxing atmosphere, twice a month the place is hosting Jazz Nights. For passionate sport fans, The Stables has special 3D TV to watch ongoing competitions.

If you like to combine the elegance of Colette’s with informality of The Stables, then chose The Glasshouse.  In good weather The Glasshouse has a beautiful seating outside where you can enjoy intricate garden designs and a breeze of warm summer wind. The food at The Glasshouse is served buffet style, however, you can see all of the chefs at work as the kitchen is open. It is also a very special buffet that offers various world delicacies such as Italian antipasti, Spanish tapas, Japanese sushi, Indian curries and many more! Be careful with the amount of food that you consume as deserts are worthy to be considered. My favorites are “Or noir” chocolate with passion fruit savarin and coconut & mango panna cotta.

The Grove is a special luxury hotel that has a very homey and unstuffy side to it. You want to come back to discover new things, to breathe, relax & have an enormous fun!
